PathCheck™ Mobile Application For IP Backhaul Link Planning

RF Link Planning App

Poway, California – October 28, 2013

Trango Systems, Inc., provider of high-capacity point-to-point microwave backhaul solutions, announced today that the company has released a mobile application called PathCheck™ for IP backhaul link planning. This mobile application aids in the design of point-to-point microwave links, based on Trango Systems’ lineup of backhaul radios. PathCheck is available for download on the App Store for the iPhone, iPad, and iPad Mini.

PathCheck includes two path calculation modules. The ‘Quick Calc’ module provides point-to-point link and reliability calculations based on distance, frequency, antenna size, and rain region. The ‘Path Profile’ module enables users to enter end point coordinates (lat. and long.) or to use GPS location services. The application displays the terrain profile and fresnel zone so that users can see if there is a clear radio line-of-sight between points. In addition to terrain, the ‘Path Profile’ module also displays a table showing link availability (reliability) and capacity for various modulation levels up to 1024QAM.
