Wireless WAN (Wide Area Network)
Trango Broadband's outdoor fixed wireless Ethernet bridging equipment is ideal for all types of Wireless WAN and Wireless LAN applications. Trango wireless solutions enable organizations to easily and cost effectively deploy reliable, high-speed, secure wireless IP connectivity between multiple remote locations. The TrangoLINK-45®, ATLAS5010, ATLAS4900 and TrangoLINK-10 are powerful and versatile Point-to-Point (PtP) Wireless Backhaul Ethernet Bridges that provide reliable, cost-effective, long-range outdoor wireless links that are easy to install and manage, and enable the elimination of expensive leased lines or fiber trenching. For Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) connectivity, such as between a central office and remote retail stores, we offer the Access5830, M2400S and M900S Broadband Wireless Access Systems that consist of Access Points and a variety of cost-effective Subscriber Unit radios.
Wireless WAN Applications
Wireless WAN applications for long-range wireless Ethernet bridges are endless. For example, a business may need to link its IT infrastructure to a few outlying buildings; a University may need to provide internet access to dormitories across campus; a hospital may need to establish a secure link to a clinic across town so that doctors may securely exchange patient information.
Wireless WAN/LAN building-to-building networks are well suited for any enterprise that requires connectivity between two or more locations—either across the street or across town. Wireless WAN/LAN networks are particularly well suited for a wide variety of industries and applications because they are extremely reliable, secure and can be established with minimal effort and cost.

Trango's Wireless WAN/LAN Solutions
Trango’s high-performance, enterprise-class solutions consistently provide a level of network reliability and manageability demanded by IT and networking professionals. The TrangoLINK-45®, ATLAS5010, ATLAS4900 and TrangoLINK-10 outdoor fixed wireless point-to-point Ethernet Bridges, Trango's HD Mesh self-healing network backbone ring and the Access5830, M2400S and M900S point-to-multipoint Broadband Wireless Access Systems all deliver key advantages to our customers looking for value-based wireless WAN solutions.
Key Advantages
- Performance Trango Broadband wireless solutions deliver lots of bandwidth at great distances with reliability, and without interruption.
- Dependability The Trango Broadband product line utilizes either Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) or Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology. DSSS was invented years ago by the US military as a secure, robust, and reliable means to communicate across great distances. DSSS is inherently dependable, efficient, and secure. OFDM is used in our new high-capacity radios, such as the Atlas Series, and is the basis for the next generation of 802.16e standards-based products.
- Security – Unlike the popular 802.11 standards that are based on open protocols, Trango's Wireless WAN solutions utilize proprietary modulation and data-scrambling techniques to ensure optimal over-the-air security.
- Manageability – Trango Broadband's product line was designed to provide network operators complete control over their wireless network. All Trango radios feature comprehensive management interfaces including Telnet, HTTP, and SNMP built right into the radio. Network operators have full access to the radios to monitor performance, optimize the network, and to add or modify authorized subscribers to the network. Using SNMP, operators can be alerted to any potential problem on their network.
- Ease of Installation – One of the most important considerations for cost-containment is ease of installation. It is not necessary to be an RF engineer to install a Trango radio. In fact, even a team of two novice installers can establish a long-range wireless link in a matter of hours. All Trango radios feature Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and are integrated radio/CPE solutions. This means the entire radio is easily installed outdoors - on a pole, or on a wall.
- Outdoor-ready and rugged – Unlike many competing solutions, the entire Trango product line is designed for outdoor installation. Our radios are manufactured to withstand the harshest environments withstanding snow, rain, or extreme heat.
