Advanced Information Security
The Elite series of IP backhaul products are the most secure microwave Ethernet point to point links available today, utilizing integrated NSA Suite B compliant FIPS-197 certified AES256-GCM real-time encryption. Sensitive data can be encrypted over an IPSEC tunnel between two points in the network. The system is interoperable with other IPSEC devices for lawful interception. Sophisticated IKEv2 key management is another unique feature which increases security. The effect on data latency is negligible since the system utilizes dedicated hardware to perform the encryption. Encryption of non-IP Ethertypes (MPLS, VPLS, PBB, etc.) is supported using IPSEC encapsulation. The Elite series is also FIPS140-2 and HIPAA compliant, with secure management interfaces over SSH, HTTPS.
Intelligent Payload Compression
Unique to the Elite series of products, this feature compresses packets in real time to provide capacity improvements up to 2.5 x the raw data rate. If the compression does not yield an improvement, the packet will go through uncompressed. Latency is typically only increased by 100 microseconds and in the case of larger packets may be reduced! Compression ratio is content variable and can be monitored using the management interface. Both compression and encryption can be used simultaneously.
